A Middle Mosel estate based in Mülheim with roots going back to the family's first vineyard purchases in 1643 and a wine-export business established in 1680. Ten generations on, it is led by Dr. Dirk Richter — long one of the Mosel's most respected traditionalists — and his son Constantin. The house is known for classical, slate-driven Riesling and above all for its holdings in the great Brauneberg sites.
About 21 hectares of steep slate vineyards spread across prime Middle Mosel sites — most famously Brauneberger Juffer and Juffer-Sonnenuhr, plus parcels in Graach, Wehlen, Mülheim, and Veldenz. Top single-vineyard wines are fermented and raised in the traditional manner, in part in large old oak Fuder casks, generally with native yeasts. Richter is also celebrated for Eiswein from its Mülheimer Helenenkloster monopole.
